Madeleine is our first exceptional line, crafted in France with the finest materials and represents a turning point for Le Tanneur. This line reinterprets like no other the traditional hobo bag, especially the large format with its minimalist and elegant lines, highlighting the leather and its exceptional grain. Our idea with the Madeleine line? To give free rein to our design team and let our years of experience speak for themselves, never denying anything. From the cutting to the finishes, through the house colors, everything is meticulously calculated and worked down to the smallest detail. Starting with the leather, full-grain ox leather, especially flexible and round, one of the best leathers that can be found in France.

French craftsmanship is the key to our work with Madeleine. The leather comes from a family tannery founded in Espelette in 1927. The metal pieces, conceived as jewelry, were designed near Lake Geneva and the line itself was assembled in our workshops in the Loire Valley. A craftsmanship that is found here in two other formats: the medium-sized shoulder bag and the small shoulder bag. Three models, 725 pieces in total, hand-numbered like works of art.

The line is available in four colors up to our ambitions, purple, brown, burgundy, and white, but Madeleine is not limited solely to its outer beauty. Its interior radiates expertise, among other things because it thinks big. Each format offers spacious and ideally organized design. "Beautiful inside and out," one of the founding pillars of the Le Tanneur brand, was the least it could offer. Madeleine is our fully embraced guilty pleasure. The words that best define this line are exceptional leather goods and French craftsmanship.
