France according to...

Akrame Benallal

For Le Tanneur, France is an inexhaustible source of expertise that is passed down and complemented. In our view, its beauty lies in the gestures of those who work daily to make France shine. Throughout our history, we have collaborated with
some of these people, men and women, whom we wanted to honor in this article
dedicated to our country and its hidden beauties.

Akrame Benallal is part of this generation of
Michelin-starred chefs who have made a name for themselves with modern cuisine combining perfection of flavors and love. He remains true to the key words "sharing" and "pleasure," which are found in each of his dishes, and we call upon his talent for our events.

What does France mean to you?

For me, France represents the most beautiful things. It
embodies the art of living that the whole world seeks.

Fashion, culture, gastronomy, the French art of living is
exceptional. Many countries dream of having their great brasseries, their great fashion names; it is uncommon. We can be proud of our country.

What is your vision of products made in France?

For me, they have an exceptional future. The pandemic had the positive effect of bringing us back to our values, our know-how. It’s essential to bring craftsmanship back to the heart of many forgotten trades.

For example, in gastronomy, the lockdown allowed us to take a step back, approach our profession differently. We forget all those ideas we
had in mind before, to focus on the essentials and innovate. It can ultimately be quite beneficial.

What are the connections you see and like between gastronomy and leather goods?

There are many. Starting with the work of the material, the
leather. In leather goods, there is a manual expertise similar to that found in gastronomy. There is also the creative side, finding new ideas, but above all the useful, practical side.

In leather goods as in cuisine, we must be useful. On our
side, by nourishing our guests as best we can, and on the other, by facilitating life, daily life.

What did you like about your dinner and event projects withLe Tanneur?

Le Tanneur is a French house. I am very attached to that. They defend the same values as me, such as French know-how, the influence of France abroad. There is a good synergy between our two worlds.

A place in France you recommend?

I love the Mediterranean. I like to go to Èze-Village. There, you overlook everything. The mountains and the Mediterranean stretch as
far as the eye can see. I also really like going towards Cassis and Marseille.

When you come from the Mediterranean like I do, it acts on you like a magnet. It calls to us. I need to go see it. If I don't go once or twice a year, I'm not well. It is so inspiring.
